Despite his cold and uncommunicative appearance, the quickness and ferocity with which Mildmay attaches himself to to his half-brother Felix (and, to a lesser degree, his girlfriends Ginevra and Mehitabel) , and the doggedness with which he sticks by him and protects him despite Felix being a moody manipulative bastard, proves that Mildmay, above all else, craves human connection. Mildmay has gone through so much of his life being treated like furniture that when someone actually sees and treats him as a person, he attaches hard and fast. He is perpetually caught between his loneliness, his desire for love and affection, and his own belief that he is unworthy of such things. Mildmay flusters very easily under praise and concern for his person but never hesitates to offer comfort or protection to someone he is close to.
objective: Taking the initiative to be social. Honestly, Mildmay IS a pretty social person, but between his thuggish looks and his trouble talking and his shady history, he tends to assume people don’t want to associate with his ilk. This will give him the push to actually talk to people, and start building relationships where his other objectives can be fulfilled.

- Raised as a kept thief and an assassin, Mildmay broke with his keeper and has been living as a cat burglar in melusine, a city deep in history and harsh socioeconomic lines.
- After a whole bunch of other nasty shit, Mildmay winds up being magically summoned by a foreign wizard, who declares he is key to helping him accomplish some nebulous goal.
- The other key is Mildmay’s half-brother, Felix, a powerful wizard driven mad by nefarious means. Literally no-one cares though, except Mildmay..
- So Mildmay takes Felix to try and get him fixed up because Mildmay is decent like that
- They travel across the map and back again, evil wizards are defeated, and then they get exiled.
